3D printing cost estimator
A first estimate for your part. Actual quotes come from makers who open your STL.
How it works
Describe the part, upload the STL or STEP, and set quantity, material and budget. Print shops send a price and a turnaround; pick one, pay, and follow progress until the parts ship.
Why not one print shop at a time?
One post can bring in several bids, so you compare price and lead time without repeating yourself over email. Your payment is protected until you confirm the part arrived; you pay by card through Stripe.
Who's printing
Independent print shops and makers on The Spool List. Say the process you need (FDM, resin, SLS or CNC) and pick whoever best balances price, speed and location.

Got an STL?
Upload it once. Let print shops quote.
Post the part free. Verified makers quote on material, quantity and turnaround, and your payment is protected until the prints arrive and you confirm delivery.
Don't replace it. Print the part.
A dishwasher clip, a vacuum bracket, an appliance knob: parts the manufacturer no longer sells can often be printed instead of replacing the whole machine. Makers quote from your STL or your photo.

Payment protected until the parts arrive
You pay when you accept a quote. Your payment is protected, and the maker is paid once you confirm the parts were delivered.
Several quotes from one upload
Post the STL once and verified print shops can bid. Compare price, turnaround, process, reviews and past jobs side by side.
No buyer fee on top
You pay the price in the quote. There is no platform fee added for buyers.
Reviews from real orders
Every review is tied to a completed order, so ratings come from buyers who actually received parts.
No STL yet?
Post the modeling work too: CAD from photos and dimensions, STL repair or 3D scanning. Makers who offer it can quote and send you the file before printing.
If the part isn't to spec
If it arrives in the wrong material or out of tolerance, open a dispute in the app. Unresolved disputes are reviewed by The Spool List.

Common questions
How much does 3D printing cost?
It depends on volume, material, infill and finishing. A small PLA bracket costs far less than a large SLS nylon housing. The price guide shows what moves the cost; for a real number, post your STL and compare bids from makers, free.
How do I get a 3D printing quote?
Post the part once with your STL or STEP, material, quantity, finish and date. Makers on The Spool List reply with bids: a price and a turnaround. You compare and pick one; posting is free.
STL or STEP — which file should I upload?
STL is what printers slice, so it's fine for most jobs. STEP keeps the true geometry, so upload it too if you have it — makers can check tolerances, fix issues and quote CNC from the same file. Say the units (mm or inches) either way.
